Computers in Schools

In the last news item we recounted our activities in placing computers in a local school. These were refurbished machines that were running Ubuntu so that there were no licensing issues and viruses and worms from music files and USB flash drives were not an issue. We are delighted to report that pupils at Ikelenge school, where these computers were placed, entered an IT competition. They came first in the North Western province and third nationally. Congratulations.

Perhaps as a consequence of this, the senior school at Kalene has progressed with wiring and fitting out a classroom as an computer lab. We hope to be able to assist them with computers as equipment becomes available
